Our Doctrine

Scripture: We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the verbally inspired Word of God. We believe they were written by holy men as they were moved by the Holy Spirit in such a definite way that their writing was supernaturally free from error. We believe they are the final authority for faith and life and are the center of Christian fellowship. Matt. 5:18; John 16:12; 2 Timothy 3:16,17; 2 Peter 1:20, 21

Godhead: We believe the Godhead exists in 3 persons which are The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit; these three are one God, having the same nature, attributes and perfections and are worthy of precisely the same homage, and obedience. Deuteronomy 6:4; Matt. 3:16, 17; Mark 12:29; John 1:1-14; Acts 5:3; Hebrews 1:1-3

The Person and Work of Christ: We believe that Jesus is the eternal Son of God and became a man without ceasing to be God having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men. Luke 1:35; John 1:1-14

We believe He accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as a representative, substitutionary sacrifice that our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead. Is. 53; Romans 3:24, 25; Eph. 1:7; 1 Peter 1:3-5; 2:24

We believe after the resurrection He spent time and was seen on earth and then ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God, where as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of representative, intercessor and advocate for the redeemed. Acts 1:9, 10; Rom. 8:34; Heb. 7:25; 9:24; 1 John 2:1, 2

We also believe in the Blessed Hope. This is the bodily imminent pre-tribulational and pre-millennial coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for His redeemed ones: in His subsequent return to earth with His saints to establish His millennial kingdom. Zech. 14:4-11; 1 Thess. 1:10; 4:13-18; 5:9; Rev. 3:10, 19; 11-16 20:1-6

The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit: We believe the Holy Spirit is a person who convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. He is the supernatural agent of regeneration, uniting all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption, that he restrains the evil one until God’s purpose is fulfilled, that He indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and fills every yielded believer, and endues them with power for service. John 16:8-11; Rom. 8:9; 1 Cor. 12:12-14; Eph. 1:13, 14

We also believe the Holy Spirit is a divine teacher who guides believers into all truth that it is the privilege and duty of all the saved to be continually filled with the Spirit. John 16:13; Eph. 5:18; 1 John 2:20, 27

The Person and Work of Satan: We believe that Satan was once a holy and heavenly person but that through pride and ambition he became the author of sin that he is now the unholy god of this world and has openly declared himself the enemy of God. He is the great tempter as seen in the fall of man and he is the accuser of the saints, the author of false religions, the power behind the present apostasy and the future anti-Christ that he will be finally defeated and eternally punished in hell, the place prepared for him and his angels. Job 1:6, 7; Is. 14:12-17; Ezek. 28:11-19; Matt. 4:2-11; Rev. 20:10

Creation: We believe in the literal interpretation of Creation, which is accounted for in Genesis. We believe that man was created directly in God’s image by the power of God rather than by development through evolution. Gen. 1, 2

Fall of Man: We believe Adam’s voluntary sin made man’s race fall and inherited a sinful nature and that all mankind are now sinners by birth and by choice alienated from God and of himself utterly unable to remedy his lost condition and is under just condemnation without defense or excuse. Gen. 1:26, 27; Rom. 3:22, 23; 5:12; Eph. 2:1-3, 12

Salvation: We believe God provided man a way to escape everlasting punishment through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for us on the cross. His salvation was not provided by the example Christ set but by His substitution of Himself in the sinners place, the just dying for the unjust, the He might reconcile us to God. We believe that this reconciliation and salvation is immediately gained by personal, penitent belief in the death of Jesus for our sins; that this faith declares us justified from our sins and entitles us to eternal life without the works of righteousness which we may have done; that nothing prevents the salvation of the greatest sinner but his own voluntary rejection of Jesus as Savior. John 1:11, 12; 3:16; Rom. 3:24-26; Eph. 2:8, 9; 1 Peter 2:21-25;, 3:18

2 Natures of the believer: We believe that the believer has 2 natures, which are old and new, and that the new has victory over the old through the power of the Holy Spirit. Rom. 6:13; 7:15-25; 8:12, 13; Gal. 5:16-25; Eph. 4:22-24; Col. 3:10; 1 Peter 1:14-16; 1 John 3:5-9

Security Of Salvation: We believe that the redeemed are saved once and are kept in God’s power and are secure in Christ forever. John 6:37-40; Rom. 8:1, 38, 39; Phil. 1:6; 1 Peter 1:5

We also believe that the real believers’ persevering love for the Lord is the grand mark, which distinguishes them from the superficial professors. Matt. 13:19-21; 1 John 2:19

Separation: We believe that while we are in the world we are obligated to live apart from the things of the world, which brings God glory and honor. Rom. 12; 2 Cor. 6, 7; 2 John 9-11

Gifts: evangelist, pastor, teacher, governments, helps etc. Rom. 12:6-8; Eph. 4:7-13

Church: We believe that the church is a spiritual organism made up of believers in Christ. 1 Cor. 12:12-14; 2 Cor. 11:2; Eph. 1:22, 23; 5:25-27

The Ordinances: We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit to show forth our faith in the crucified, buried and risen savior with its testimony to our death to sin and resurrection to a new life. Matt. 28: 19, 20; Acts 2:41, 42; 18:8

We believe that believers are to observe communion as a regular remembrance of the person and work of Jesus as testimony of our faith in Him. 1 Cor. 11

Missions: We believe that it is the obligation of the saved to witness by life and by word to the truths of the Holy Scriptures and to seek to proclaim and send the gospel to all mankind. Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8; Rom. 10:13-15

Resurrection: We believe in the resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life and the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment. Matt. 25:46; John 5:28, 29; Rev. 20:5, 6, 12-15
